What event do you
like the most?
Mr. Hupp: We do an adult camp at the out door YMCA and it's real fun. I also love tournaments.
What do you
get out of TKD?
Mr. Hupp: I still set goals and workout. I love taking the sparring class. It's the best workout I have ever had.
Do you have an instructor?
Mr. Hupp: Yes, I have an instructor that lives in Iowa
Mr. Menneke and one that lives in Tucson, Mr. Peterson. I don't get the chance to workout with either of them as often as I would like.
What is the single most thing you have gotten out of TKD?
Mr. Hupp: There is so many, Probably patience.
Is Taekwondo your
full time job?
Mr. Hupp: Teaching Taekwondo is what I have done for a living for 22 years. I still call it a hobby but this is my full time job.
Why don't you have contracts in your programs like so many other Martial Arts Schools?
Mr. Hupp: For most part I was raised with a handshake and a smile. This works best for me. Although we have used contracts before I always end up phasing them out.
Have you ever had to use Martial Arts for Self Defense?
Mr. Hupp: One time I had to defend myself and used Taekwondo.
If you had to do it all over again what would you do different?
Mr. Hupp: I would have started Taekwondo as a child rather than a young adult and I would have stayed in the
tournament circuit competing.
What are you most proud
of in Taekwondo?
Mr. Hupp: It would probably be that I have been at the same location and in business for 22 years, it's much harder to do that than it looks.
